મોદી સરકારે સરકારી કર્મચારીઓને ચૂકવણી અંગે લીધો મોટો નિર્ણય

New Delhi: The Modi government has made major changes in the pension scheme. Announcing this on Friday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, "We are raising the limit for payment of family pension under a major reform, which has now been increased from Rs 45,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh per month." He said the move would make life easier for the family members of the deceased employees, and provide them with adequate financial security.

"The Department of Pensions and Pensioners' Welfare (DOPPW) has issued a clarification on the amount," Singh said. In case of death of their mother or father, a child is entitled to two installments of family pension.

He said that now the total amount of two such installments cannot be more than Rs 1.25 lakh. This is two and a half times the previous limit. According to the Central Civil Service Regulation 1972, both spouses are in government service, and if they fall under this rule, their surviving child would be eligible to receive two family pensions from their parents in case of their death.
